First and foremost, I would like to offer you the warmest welcome on behalf of Smithdon High School. Starting a new school, or facing the transition of moving from primary to secondary school, can be both exciting but also very daunting! Experiencing that nervous feeling first-hand, I cannot stress enough that you are not alone. I can assure you that Smithdon is a very welcoming and a caring environment. Our staff and current students are here to support you every step of the way, hoping to answer any worries or questions you may have fluttering around that head of yours. You could not be in better hands.
I have been a student at Smithdon since year 7, I understand everything Smithdon has to offer. This includes a wide range of clubs from musicals, sports sessions, music lessons to homework clubs and that's without the exciting trips you have to look forward to. Not only are these clubs incredible, as it's an opportunity to explore new passions but, it's also a place where you can make new friends who have the same interests as you!
Smithdon wants to create nothing but a positive high school experience for you. Not only do they want to support you during your education, by helping you achieve your best grades when it's finally time for you to open those results letters, but also creating the ideal environment for you to develop and grow into the amazing person you want to be.

Hello and welcome to Smithdon High School, I am very pleased that you are hoping to enrol in our community. Whether you have just left primary school starting secondary school or you are joining us during the year, I want to welcome you with big open arms. Joining secondary school can be very overwhelming for some, I should know that was me in year 7. No matter how nervous I was, I knew that I was in a safe, inviting community that looked after everyone regardless of their background.
I have been here at Smithdon for five years now and it’s safe to say I have made a lot of friends and have lots of good memories of school life. Here at Smithdon, no matter how bad the weather is or how loud the seagulls are, the staff and students always have smiles on their faces.
The dedicated staff here at Smithdon are incredible. They put in lots of time to make education in high school a worthwhile experience. It will be part of their life they will not forget.
Here at Smithdon we encourage every single one of our students to take up a co-curricular activity. Opportunities Smithdon provides include after school sports activities such as badminton, tennis and football. If you like performing, there are concerts and musicals. Theatre trips are offered to students. Revision clubs are offered in and subjects including Maths and Art. If you want something different to do and want a bit of mystery and anticipation, then Dungeons and Dragons is very popular.
As a student at Smithdon, I’m so happy to see others come into our community. I have had such an amazing school life. From Year 7 all the way through to Year 11 prom (which, I am looking forward to), I am proud to say that I am a Smithdon student.
