Summer School 2021 Report

Smithdon High School Summer School 2021

  • The summer school took place over one week, from Monday 2 to Friday 6 August 21 inclusive.
  • All 129 new Year 7 students were invited to attend
  • Places were taken up by 49 students, of whom 33 were Pupil Premium eligible.
  • Monday-Thursday included one hour each of English and Maths each day. The afternoons consisted of:
    • Two Science sessions
    • A Beach School afternoon
    • Food/Cooking session
    • An MFL session
    • An Art session
    • A Music/performance session
    • A PE afternoon
  • Thursday ended with a Celebration Assembly, with parents invited in to see their children win awards and prizes from the week, as well as a special performance of a song from Matilda by their children.
  • Friday was an educational trip to Pensthorpe Nature Reserve.

Summer school catch-up funding:

Maximum Potential Funding: £12,895.00

All activities, resources and snacks provided FOC by the school. Lunch was provided for those eligible for FSM, who accepted our free lunch offer.
